Happy Camper, Christmas
Happy Camper is fully decked out for Christmas & we couldn’t wait to check it out! The ho, ho, ho’s and I had pizza & drinks here over the weekend & had ourselves a merry little time.
We arrived at Happy Camper and the entire restaurant/patio was tented & heated. We headed inside & were immediately immersed in Christmas lights. The expansive pizza haven was decorated head-to-toe in holiday trimmings with lights, trees & seasonal neon signs throughout. There was a DJ by the bar keeping Happy Camper’s atmosphere spirited & lively.
If you’re planning to check out Happy Camper, definitely make a reservation. The place was packed! We had a reservation for 7 people at 7pm and we still had to wait 31 minutes past our rez time to be seated (& the gals at the hostess stand were rude). Despite this hiccup, the rest of our time at Happy Camper was too fun & we’ll certainly be back.
We were seated at a picnic table on the heated, turf-lined patio.
Our server, Carlee was an absolute doll and had stellar drink & food recommendations. She had great energy and was diligently speeding around Happy Camper ensuring all of her tables had everything they needed.
We all had a long week so Carlee brought us a round of 'Let's say f*ck it' shots - shots left up to the bartender, something to get us buzzing.
The shots were fruity with a prosecco effervescence that made for easy sipping.
General Manager, Michael Fetters brought us over a round of Clawbongs (Chambongs filled with White Claw) to really kick our Happy Camper experience into high gear.
This was my first time chambong-ing a White Claw (10/10 recommend); it went down easy and was fun for everyone to do.
For Pizza we had the Nadene made with cupped pepperoni, ricotta, basil, hot honey & marinara.
This pizza was bomb - it was loaded with crispy cupped pepperoni & dollops of creamy ricotta cheese. The hot honey provided a great hint of sweet heat to the overall savory pie. The pizza dough was crisp, the crust chewy and the cheese was piping hot & melty. We all got down on the Nadene and loved every bite.
Bree had the Mint to Be Cocktail made with Peppermint Schnapps, Rum Cream & Hot Cocoa.
This was a comforting seasonal drink - rich, creamy & delightfully minty. It tasted like a boozy candy cane immersed in hot cocoa & topped off with whipped cream.
Bryn had a Mule made with Vodka, Lime, Orange Bitters & Ginger.
The Mule was holiday appropriate thanks to the ginger and was delightfully fizzy.
For Happytizers we had the Jalapeño Homies made with cream cheese, bacon, cheddar, tomato & a side of BBQ sauce.
Jaclyn had a glass of Prosecco.
The sparkling wine was a good pairing with Nadene's pizza & the ricotta cheese that topped it.
For Happytizers we had the Jalapeño Homies made with cream cheese, bacon, cheddar, tomato & a side of BBQ sauce.
These were great bites; the jalapeños had a spicy kick that was mellowed out by the smooth, cream cheese.
Ally had an Aperol Spritz made with Aperol, Prosecco & Soda.
The glass the Aperol Spritz came in was everything - just look at that massive goblet. The Aperol Spritz was slightly bitter with a sweet hint of orange and sparkle of Prosecco.
Addi had a Big A$$ Lemonade made with Vodka Lemonade and a shot of Sweet Tea Vodka.
The sweetness from the tea and tart lemonade made for a refreshing cocktail that packed a heavy punch.
Tiana had our standard go to - Tito’s & Water with lime.
For Dessert we had the Dessert Board made with bite size trifecta ice cream sandwiches, cookie dough bites, gummy bears & m&m’s.
There was something for everyone on the dessert board which made it great for sharing. The fruity pebble ice cream sandwiches were a big hit. My favorite were the Christmas sprinkled cookie dough bites.
What a night! Big thanks to Happy Camper, Carlee, Michael Fetters & Sarah Butler for hosting us.
Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you! xx
