#MUCHEXCITE
VOLTA is Cirque du Soleil’s 41st original production since 1984, and its 18th show presented under the Big Top!
The Iconic Big Top will be at Pepsi Center - Prius West Lot from April 30 – June 7, 2020 and tickets are on sale now! Click HERE for tickets!
VOLTA’s creative team comprises 15 creators under the artistic guidance of Jean-François Bouchard.
Energetic, urban and contemporary, VOLTA is a captivating voyage of discovery that showcases never-before-seen acrobatics in a visually striking world. Driven by a stirring melodic score composed by Anthony Gonzalez from electronic group M83 and inspired by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of street sports, VOLTA is a story of transformation. It is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s true potential, and recognizing one’s own power to make it possible.
#MUCHWOW
Also can I get a moment of silence for all the acrobats bodies lol? Like good Lord put me on that workout regimen ASAP. #absabsabs
Some sports you can you expect to see at VOLTA? BMX & Street Sports!
Denver BMX professional AJ Anaya is part of the VOLTA team and is thrilled to be coming back to his hometown! #DenverRepresent!
He’s competed at the professional BMX level since 2006 and has taken part in numerous shows and sports events including America’s got Talent, half time shows for the NFL, the NBA and the NHL, and the Pan American Games.
Now he’s part of the first BMX freestyle cast in Cirque du Soleil’s history as characters in the show called Free Spirits!
Sure to be a Denver crowd pleaser, VOLTA features a full-blown BMX park mounted on stage in front of the audience’s very eyes for the breathtaking BMX finale as riders invade the stage to deliver a jaw-dropping, fast and furious performance of nonstop acrobatics on wheels. The riders go up the jump boxes and perform air tricks before landing and leaping off the ramps again, crisscrossing and spinning their bikes in midair in a spirit of brotherhood.
The creators of VOLTA drew inspiration from the spirit of adventure that pervades the world of BMX, street sports and acrobatics. Whether they are on a bike, hopping from rooftop to rooftop, or double dutch rope skipping, urban sports enthusiasts constantly challenge themselves and defy convention.
VOLTA's Circus and Electronic Music – A Stream of Gripping Musical Landscapes
Denver music fans can look forward to VOLTA’s live band (YAS!) which is complete with powerful vocalists, violinist, percussion and more. The rich, musical performance is perfectly synced with the acrobatics, helping to fully immerse guests into the urban world of VOLTA.
Written by electronic music composer Anthony Gonzalez (M83), the highly cinematic music of VOLTA evokes a complex array of emotions and moods that that resonates in the Big Top night after night. Electronic music was incorporated to circus to present the new street sports disciplines in a context that would highlight them best and would share the urban energy of those disciplines.
VOLTA's Costumes – An Ode to Freedom and Self-Acceptance
The stunning costumes of VOLTA have been designed by Zaldy Goco, famous for his work with Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and for TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race.
