Simply Injectables was founded in 2014 by Richard Kratzenberg, MS PA.

Richard is a board certified Physician Assistant under the supervision of B. J. Carolan, M.D., a physician board certified in Internal Medicine. Richard has managed dermatology offices in NYC, Colorado and Rhode Island. Simply Injectables has locations in Denver, CO (conveniently located in the Highlands) and Providence, RI.

Richard began training Katie Averson, BSN RN in 2017.

Richard trained Katie in his specific & skilled injection techniques for both Botox and fillers. Katie has completed Allergan Medical Certificates for Vollure, Voluma, and Volbella as well as attended Allergan Masterclass trainings using Allergan products Juvederm, Kybella, and Botox.

(sidenote - having pretty injectors always puts me at ease lol. They obviously know what they're doing with their faces so you can trust they are going to take care of yours! #regulationhotties)

Richard successfully put Simply Injectables on the national injectables map with a rank of 136 out of 40,000 clinics in the US. 136 out of 40,000! That is amazing!!

Richard established this ranking with NO paid marketing. Simply Injectables grew it's practice through word of mouth referrals. This comes as no surprise to me as my mom, her friends, my sister & my girlfriends now go to Simply Injectables - all through word of mouth referrals. So what exactly is Botox? Botox is a long acting muscle relaxer that can be placed lightly on certain areas of the face to smooth fine lines and wrinkles - giving a beautiful youthful appearance despite age. These results are what we wish our serums and lotions could achieve! Botox truly helps in capturing that well rested look with tighter & brighter skin.

Not only can Botox be used on the face, it is approved for 14 indications in the U.S. (26 world wide) including excessive sweating in the palms, feet, and armpits, migraines, bladder spasms, TMJ, etc.

One thing to keep in mind is that Botox is better used as a preventative than a restorative. Botox “freezes” facial muscles to prevent faces that deepen lines and wrinkles. This is why it’s extremely beneficial to start Botox treatment in your 20’s at the first sign of wrinkles - your skin will be much better for it in the long run. Botox still has positive effects when you’re older but preventing those wrinkles from ever forming is ideal!

So, what spurred me on to begin my Botox treatment with Simply Injectables?

I noticed I was starting to get some deep set forehead lines in 2015 and I was dead set on getting rid of them and not letting them progress any further - especially because my wedding was fast approaching in 2016.

My mom and her friends had been going to Richard and Simply Injectables since 2014 so I decided to give Botox a go in Fall of 2015. Here we are 5 years later, and I have not one wrinkle on my forehead OR my face. Hello natural & youthful appearance! #pleaseneverleaveme

NOW - I know there are potential patrons out there may be avoiding botox because they’re squeamish when it comes to needles. Don’t sweat it - so was I. & trust me when I say there's nothing to be scared of. The Botox needle is a freaking teeny tiny minuscule little thing & the sensation when getting Botox is similar to that of plucking an eyebrow. It's a series of super brief pinches & then voila! It's over!

Botox runs $10/unit at Simply Injectables. The amount of units you need will depend on your skin/wrinkles - but here are the normal tox ranges you will see at Simply Injectables:

Simply Injectables normal ranges:
Forehead: 4-16 units
Glabella: 12-20 units
Crow's Feet: 8-24 units
Jaw Muscle: 20-40 units (10-20 per side)

For reference, the FDA approves the following units at max:

Crow's feet: 24 units (12 units per side)
Frown lines: 20 units

One of the things I love about Simply Injectables is that they have the upmost integrity with their injection practice. They will never over suggest how many units you need and they will actually tell you - "No" - if you're asking for more units than what they deem effective/necessary. This is a tell-tale sign of a trustworthy injection practice.

Before each treatment Richard and or Katie will analyze your face and give you their recommendations on how many units you need.

They also will take pictures of your face on the Simply Injectables ipad to document your progress of "Before" and "Afters".

You will then will be comfortably leaned back in Simply Injectable's treatment chair and Richard or Katie will begin administering the botox!

My sister and I's Botox treatments generally take 10-15 minutes.

Because of the timeliness of the treatment, Botox is often referred to as a "lunch-time procedure". You can go right back to work after getting it! This is exactly what Treslyn and I do - just be sure to not label "Botox appointment" on the company calendar lol lol - label it as a "Dr's Appt"!

Treslyn's Treatment:
Forehead: 8 units
Frown lines: 14 units
Crow's feet: 12 units
34 total units ($340 in treatment)

Alisha's Treatment:
Forehead: 6 units
Frown lines: 12 units
Crow's feet: 8 units
Jaw Muscle: 30 units
56 total units ($560 in treatment)

When getting treated, I focus on my breathing to distract me from the pinches. Before each pinch, I inhale and when I feel the lil' pinch, I exhale. This tactic keeps my mind elsewhere! But seriously the treatment is really seamless & if you are nerv, bring a gal pal with you!

The jaw muscle treatment - masseter slimming - has been my new found botox fav for the past 2 years.

If you have a boxy or pear shaped face - Botox can majorly assist in slimming down your profile. My fav before and after masseter slimming photos? None other than the Boss B herself.

Now let's take a look at my lovely 'Before' pear shaped face and my 'After'.

to the big ol’ PEAR shape on the left & snaps for the after! Slimming down quite nicely if I do say so myself!

Right after your botox treatment - dependent on how many units you get - you generally will have teeny tiny small red bumps on your face (comparable to bug bites & that’s what I call them lol) which will subside in about 10-15 minutes! Generally by the time I drive back to my office, my "bug bites" are gone and nobody at my office is the wiser that I have had a treatment.

Following your treatment, Richard and Katie will advise how often they recommended to come in. I go to Simply Injectables every three months on the dot - a solid preventative timeline as Botox lasts 3-4 months.

In 2-5 days following treatment, you will start seeing your Botox results. In two weeks, your full Botox results will be settled in.
