Pho Saigon
So I was lucky enough to have my first Pho experience about a month ago at Pho Saigon. All I can say is: hold the pho-one this stuff is pho–king GOOD!
I’m actually pretty upset nobody had told me about Pho sooner. Basically, Pho is a Vietnamese rice noodle bowl that will make you question what you were ever eating prior. It’s brothy, noodley, meaty goodness that’s essentially Ramen’s sexier and tastier cousin.
Pho Saigon is a hole in the wall restaurant with authenticity to match. Their portions are HUGE and their prices are super reasonable. My go to has been their Medium Pho Tai Nam which includes slices of rare beef and well done flank.
I have hands down become a Pho enthusiast in the past couple of weeks; I literally cannot get enough. Pho Saigon has become a weekly if not bi-weekly stop. The first time I stopped there I was getting a cold and let me tell you something, nothing is better for a sore throat than Pho. The broth is heavenly and substantially helped soothe my throat.
I love putting sriracha, hoisin sauce, and lime in my Pho periodically as I’m eating. This gives the pho different flavor notes throughout the meal. If you really want some kick, add 3-4 sliced jalapeno’s and let them cook in the broth for a couple of minutes; you’ll be breathing fire in no time.
