The Four Seasons Hotel Denver has a new partnership with the award-winning, artisanal mezcal brand, Dos Hombres and has transformed their corner bar into Montaña Escondida - A Mezcal Bar By Dos Hombres (open April 3 – May 31, from 5pm – 10pm). We got to check out it out over the weekend!

We arrived at Four Seasons Denver and made ourselves comfortable at the corner bar. Montaña Escondida offered mountain-inspired mezcal cocktails and bites served in an Oaxan inspired space. There were tropical plants, florals, & décor reminiscent of Oaxaca.

We started our experience with thoughtfully crafted cocktails from the mixologists from EDGE - each highlighted the taste & smoothness of Dos Hombres. Two of our favorites were the Primavera Twist and The Heisenberg. The Primavera Twist was made with Dos Hombres mezcal, Lillet Rosé, yuzu, and orange flower water. The Heisenberg was made of Dos Hombres, agave, Amaro Nonino, sweet vermouth, and agave.

We paired our cocktails with Mexican-style light bites which included Hamachi Tostadas, Crispy Mushroom Tacos, & Elote Guacamole. The Crispy Mushroom Tacos were my favorite and were made with parsley, carrot slaw, garlic crema, grilled jalapeños, & chipotle salsa. The tacos were a burst of flavor and textures. The cooling and rich garlic crema balanced the delicate heat from the salsa and jalapeños. The carrot slaw added a counterpoint to the richness of the marinated & crisped mushrooms.

From the raw bar we ordered the Torched Salmon Nigiri and the Hamachi Crudo. The Torched Salmon Nigiri remains one of my favorite dishes in Denver and is a must order whenever at Four Seasons Denver. It melts in your mouth with the most incredible umami flavors.
