Blanco Cocina + Cantina

Andele andele mami! We dined at Blanco Cocina + Cantina and WHAT. A .MEAL. From the ambience to the service, from the drinks to the food, Blanco Cocina + Cantina has now secured it's spot as my favorite Mexican Restaurant in town.

We arrived at Blanco and were seated in the main dining room in a booth. Blanco's aesthetic was that of a Mexican cantina with pops of green found in hanging & potted plants, ceramics & wooden accents. The atmosphere was fun & lively.

The staff of Blanco were hustling with the most positive of attitudes during our meal. The restaurant was very busy and they were handling the crowd with ease. The general manager - Dulce - was on the floor during our entire meal. It was evident how ardent she was about the restaurant and her team. Our waitress - Eiley - made our meal exceptional with her knowledge of the menu and her stellar food & drink recommendations.

We started with the Skinny Margarita and the seasonal Cranberry Margarita for our drinks.

The Skinny Margarita is made with ana maria rosado, smashed orange, rose petal, and agave.

The Skinny Margarita was refreshing with lovely floral notes from the rose petal. The ana maria rosado and light agave had a clean and bright finish. The Skinny Margarita is Blanco's most popular marg and we can see why - it was delicious!

The seasonal Cranberry Margarita was the perfect holiday cocktail; it had a great balance between tart and sweet.

There was a subtle smell of spice from the cinnamon garnish and I loved the addition of brown sugar on the rim of the glass.

For starters we had the "Esquites" Mexican Street Corn and the Nachos Con Queso Blanco

The "Esquites" Mexican Street Corn is made with mayo, cilantro, lime, and cotija cheese.

I am a sucker for street corn and Blanco's Mexican Street Corn is the best I have ever had. The corn was smothered in drool worthy sauce and sprinkled with a beautiful blend of spices. The mayo sauce added a creamy element to the corn while the tangy lime brought forth tangy acidity with every bite. Incredibly flavorful and crazy tasty!

The Nachos Con Queso Blanco are made with avocado, crema fresca, black bean, pico de gallo with the addition of Red Chile Chicken.

The Nachos Con Queso Blanco were bomb. The nachos were loaded with toppings and drizzled with crema fresca. The chicken was juicy and savory and the meaty texture was everything with the snap of the warm tortilla chips.

For entrees we had the Tiger Shrimp Fajitas and the Short Rib Machaca Chimichanga.

The Tiger Shrimp Fajitas are made with spicy garlic butter and served with Caramelized Peppers & Onions, Elote, Guacamole, Pico De Gallo, Queso Blanco and Black Beans.

The Tiger Shrimp Fajitas are Eiley's favorite thing on the menu and we're SO glad she recommended that we try this entree. The Tiger Shrimp were piping hot, plump and juicy. The shrimp had a subtle sweetness and the spicy garlic butter was savory with heat behind it. The Tiger Shrimp Fajitas packed a serious flavor punch that will keep us coming back for more.

The Short Rib Machaca Chimichanga is made with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, rice & beans.

This chimichanga was huge and really good. The short rib machaca was meaty and full of barbacoa flavors.

For dessert we had the Mexican Chocolate Tiramisu. The Mexican Chocolate Tiramisu is made with maria's cookies, chocolate mousse, dulce de leche, and candied walnuts.

YUMMO. The Mexican Tiramisu was next level in taste & had beautiful texture variation - the crunch of the walnuts, creamy mousse, gooey caramel and soft cookie cake were heavenly. THIS. DESSERT. WAS. UNREAL. More please!

Huge thanks to Blanco Cocina + Cantina, Dulce Eiley, Ali and Voca Public Relations for hosting us! We will be back very soon!
