Culinary Dropout

Culinary Dropout is a new lively food & beverage experience in Denver’s 9+CO development from Fox Restaurant Concepts and we couldn’t wait to check it out for dinner. The restaurant’s slogan is “damn good food and drinks" and after dining here, we concur!

Upon arriving at Culinary Dropout, the vibe is that of a cool, gastro-style pub with quirky decorations and a vivacious atmosphere. The restaurant offers free yard games & live local music so it's definitely a spot to grab an inventive cocktail, a classic meal & hang out a while with friends.

The staff at Culinary Dropout was chill & friendly. Our server Lucian was great and helped us navigate Culinary Dropout's menu. PR representative Ali was a complete doll and made sure our meal ran smoothly.

We started with drinks and had the Deviant Behavior and the Room Service. The Deviant Behavior is made with Ketel One vodka, strawberry, lemon, and Shock Top Belgian white.

YUM. I can see why the Deviant Behavior is one of Culinary Dropout's most popular drinks; I loved it! The Shock Top was smooth and complemented the dash of lemon & strawberry increasing the subtle tartness of the fruits' flavor in this cocktail.

The Room Service is made with American gin, lemon, strawberry, and bubbly wine.

The Room Service's ruby pink color in the coup glass was sensuous and the subtle bubbles gave a fancy overall glow to the cocktail. The herbaceous quality of gin went well with the sweet strawberry. This cocktail was refreshing and was a great pre-dinner drink.

To share we had the Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue are made with sea salt.

Just look at those big puffy pretzel balls! I am a sucker for pretzels and these buttery, soft pretzel balls were a dream. The pretzels' had a nice, crisp golden exterior that was seasoned with butter and sea salt while the inside was soft & hot. The provolone fondue was silky smooth and had a complex, mild-to-rich taste with a sweet finish. The nutty and earthy flavor notes of the fondue paired well with the doughy fresh-from-the-oven taste of the pretzels. This was the perfect snack for sharing!

The House Potato Chips are served with Culinary Dropout's famous onion dip. Marci used to frequent Culinary Dropout in Arizona so highly recommended these chips & I’m SO glad she did!

The dip was lovely, creamy, tangy and the onions were evenly distributed throughout. There was a little kick in the dip from garlic. The dip had a thick consistency that complemented the snap of the fresh potato chips. NOM.

The Roasted Salmon is served with butternut farro risotto, garden herb pesto, and crispy brussels sprouts.

The risotto was made with chewy, farro and roasted butternut squash making for a wonderful taste and creamy texture. The salmon was seasoned nicely with the garden herb pesto and the crispy brussels made for subtle snaps on finishing bites. This entrée was delicious and filling; great for fall and winter. Marci and I really appreciated this rustic take on Salmon and will 100% order again!

The Steak Frites is a prime skirt steak served with black truffle butter, and French fries.

This was a solid skirt steak - there was some marbling and a layer of fat on the bottom which is where the flavor lied. The steak had a beefy flavor. The steak was blanketed in melted black truffle butter which was garlicky and earthy. A hearty dish for a cooler fall or winter night.

The Monkey Bread is made with cinnamon apple brioche & vanilla ice cream. It's great to share and baked to order!

The Monkey bread was buttery in flavor and had the signature texture of brioche dough. We added the vanilla ice cream to the Monkey Bread (as it was still warm from the oven) and made melty gooey bites for ourselves. The sweet cinnamon apple filling was a cinnamon lover's delight!

Huge thanks to Culinary Dropout and team for hosting us! We will be back to take over the patio and hang out with friends very soon!

Check it out babes and let them know that denv.her. sent you! xx
