Gaylord Rockies, So. Much. Christmas.

Where's a good place to find Christmas cheer? The Gaylord Rockies resort! We had a holiday staycation at Gaylord Rockies over the weekend and had a wonderful time.

The entire resort was decked out head to toe in Christmas decorations and there were Christmas experiences & winter activities around every corner. So. Much. Christmas.

We arrived at the hotel and got checked in - our dog Forbes came along with us as Gaylord Rockies recently became dog friendly.

We dined at Vista Montagne for dinner which is Gaylord's Italian restaurant.

We ate from a Prix Fixe menu and had the Mista and Salumi & Cheese for starters.

We had the Chicken Parmigiana and the Bucatini for mains.

The Bucatini was our favorite - nice and hot with cheesy sauce & freshly ground black pepper.

We had the Espresso Tiramisu for dessert.

Following dinner we made our way to the Bubbly Theatre for the Christmas show - Cirque Dreams Holidaze.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze was a fantastical Christmas show with acrobats, gymnasts, singers & athletes. We followed a family putting back together a magical Christmas snowflake to restore the magic of Christmas. The Cirque Dreams Holidaze performers kept us on the edge of our seats the entire show as they dazzled in their numbers. Gaylord Rockies is illuminated at night with acres of twinkling Christmas lights at LIGHT! LIGHT! is the Christmas lights display inspired by high gusts of wind across the Mile High City. Each light display has a different take on the wind and portrays its effect on the landscapes of Colorado. We bundled up and made our way through the colorful & bright exhibit.

Some of the installations moved whimsically with the wind while others mesmerizingly changed color and threw their lights, dancing to the ground. LIGHT! is a free exhibit and open for viewing to all Gaylord Rockies customers.

The interior of the resort is also lit up beautifully at night - the grand Christmas tree in the main lobby is stunning.

In the morning, we stepped into the world of Buddy the Elf in Gaylord Rockies all new Original Experience, Mission: Save Christmas featuring Elf™. We adventured through an immersive Elf™ world that brought us through beloved scenes of the movie with appearances from favorite characters like Mr. Narwhal.

The recreation of the mail room scene from Elf™ was hysterical. There are projectors that cast your image up on the wall so you can dance just like Buddy did in the movie. Ross got to show off his dance moves in all their glory. We completed numerous other fun activities in Mission: Save Christmas and ultimately powered Santa's sleigh with Christmas spirit to save the day. Woohoo! Gaylord Rockies offers several outdoor winter activities including snowtubing and ice skating. The snowtubing was our favorite!

After all those Christmas activities - Ross and I were ready to unwind. We headed to the Relâche Spa for 50 minute Custom Spa Massages in the couples massage room. I added hot stones to my massage which was amazing.
