33rd Annual Champagne Cascade, The Brown Palace Hotel
We kicked off the holiday season this weekend at The Brown Palace Hotel for the 33rd Annual Champagne Cascade. It was nothing less than Christmas magic and this is a tradition everyone needs to add to their list!
The Champagne Cascade is an iconic event in Denver that features the lighting of The Brown Palace's Christmas chandelier and the sabering & pouring of Moet & Chandon Champagne into a 5,000+ champagne coupe glass pyramid.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was the benefactor for this year's Champagne Cascade. The Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission is to grant life-changing wishes for children battling critical illnesses.
We had VIP tickets and our viewing area was located on the Mezzanine level of the atrium. There were bottomless wine, champagne & beer options as well as hors d'oeuvres, a hot chocolate station and petit fours. The VIP tickets ensured we had the best views of the chandelier lighting and cascade.
Santa Clause even made a special appearance in the VIP Mezzanine for photo ops!
The Champagne Cascade crowd lined all levels of the holiday adorned-atrium and we all eagerly awaited the lighting of The Brown Palace’s Christmas chandelier. Giant evergreen garland danced across the Mezzanine arches accompanied by a plethora of twinkling lights and white winter branches. All of these decorations are breathtaking and complement the big decor daddy of them all, the Brown Palace’s 25 foot Christmas chandelier. The chandelier is donned with yards & yards of beading and over 4,000 ornaments. There was a drumroll and the chandelier was brought to life, springing a glow with 100,000 lights!
Spectacular!
Once the chandelier was lit, it was time for the sabering. Master swordsmen used Napoleonic sabers to sever the bottlenecks of Moet & Chandon Champagne.
The Champagne was then poured into the uppermost glass of a two-story high glass pyramid. As the Champagne was poured, it cascaded into the glasses below, creating a stunning display of bubbly.
We all cheered for the pouring as live holiday tunes were played!
