Quarantine
Wow guys.
Hey there.
How is everyone holding up?
But seriously - what a freaking trip 2020 has been and it’s only been 3 months.
I remember first hearing about Coronavirus at the beginning of February and I didn't even bat an eye. Because like - Swine Flu. Bird Flu. Ebola. SARS. - just to name a few that didn't shut down the entire world.
I truly didn't think coronavirus would escalate like it did. I obviously was egregiously incorrect.
So now, we're on a quarantine plan that has us staying in our homes until April 30th.
APRIL.
M'F*CKING.
THIRTIETH.
#woooosaaaaaah
SO. What are we going to do for 30 more days?
Here are a couple of things that have been helping my friends and I keep some resemblance of sanity during quarantine.
***
Feel Your Feelings -
This sounds uber hippie but don't be afraid to feel your emotions, whatever they may be during this time.
It's ok to be angry. It's ok to be sad. It's ok to be scared.
Because frankly, this sucks. People getting sick sucks. Death sucks. & isolating in our homes being the biggest thing we can do to help during this pandemic sucks.
So feel those negative emotions
- BUT -
then make room for more positive ones.
We can use this as a time to recharge, reset and pray. We will get our world back after all of this and can come out as better people when we do.
Drink Water - super basic concept but truly so easy to forget when working from home.
Solution?
Go to Amazon and buy a huge f*cking water bottle.
I still have yet to drink that ^ entire behemoth in a day but I'm getting closer lol. Make your friends buy it too - H2O races are the new sport of 2020.
Virtual Happy Hours -
Carole totes killed Don - but I digress. Thank God for Zoom, Skype, and FaceTime! Just because we aren't supposed to be within 6 feet of our friends, doesn't mean we can't virtually see all their cute, stupid shining faces.
& it's V important to check in on your people during this time (especially the extroverted ones lol). See how they are mentally holding up and how their families are doing. We all gotta take care of each other - don't let anyone go quiet on you!
Comfy Can Be Cute -
Don’t underestimate the power of getting ready in the morning while quarantined.
Do you have to slap on a full face of makeup and do your hair? Abso-not. But put on a cute athleisure outfit and get your hair out of your face. You'll get a lot more accomplished during the day when you're not a full throttle slob kabob.
Online shopping & comfy athleisure brand recommendations? Carbon38, Lululemon & Free People Movement. ALSO - robes are never a bad idea.
Turn Off The News -
The news is freaking crawling right now with exaggerated negativity and lies - I'm looking at you CBS News - freaking showing footage of Italy and saying it's NYC, GTFO.
None of us need constant bad vibes. So if you want an update on the pandemic, pick 30 mins a day to peek at the news and then turn those motherf*ckers OFF.
There are so, so, so many good shows to binge watch while being at home and the news is just not one of them! You like docuseries and tigers? Watch Tiger King. You like spooky and magical ish? Watch Locke & Key. You like reality tv shows? Legit watch anything and everything on Bravo.
Try New Things -
Whether it's reading a book, learning how to play a new board game, home improvement, cooking, crafting, blogging, vlogging, jogging, clogging (oooooh cultural) - see what new venture you can pick up during quarantine.
Don't come out of this without a new skill or experience under your belt. I'm currently crock potting a bunch of sh*t - which is my attempt at cooking lol.
Dogs - Self explanatory. Take your doggos on the most walks. Your fur babies should currently be living their best lives.
If you don't have a doggo, consider fostering during the quarantine. So many shelters need help right now and guaranteed you'll find yourself a new best friend.
Henlo lil pupper <3.

Now I wanna hear from you all - what are you doing to pass the quarantine??
***
& we're going to get through this guys. We're going to get through it together.
& just think of the newfound appreciation all of us are going to have when it comes to the little things:
Eating in restaurants.
Going to concerts.
Going to the gym.
Going to church.
The ability to travel within our own country and to different countries.
Freaking hugging and squeezing our family members and friends as tight as we can!!
It's all going to be so much sweeter at the end of this. & I cannot wait for us all to experience those things with new clarity of just how precious it all is and how truly blessed we are.
So stay home. Stay safe. & see you all on the other side!
xoxo
