Urban Sombrero

What is Urban Sombrero you ask?

"It combines the spirit of old Mexico with a little big city panache."

Urban Sombrero just opened their second location in Englewood and their first is located in Denver.

As you can see, Urban Sombrero has no shortage of TV’s - you’ll be able to watch any and every football game that your heart desires at this fun restaurant & there really is no bad seat in the house!

Urban Sombrero has some killer margaritas and I immediately went for the Halle Berry which is a jalapeno and strawberry marg on the rocks made with fresh fruit juice (ALL of Urban Sombrero’s margs boast fresh fruit juice making them nice & tart)!

YUMMO.

For apps, we were treated to the Sombrero Sampler and the Relleno Appetizer.

The Sombrero Sampler is a stellar app for sharing while you watch your fav sports teams throw down and it includes all of those classic sport apps anyone craves while watching some football!

a9.jpg

The Sombrero Sampler comes with two buffalo wings, three boneless wings, three chicken tenders, French fries, onion rings, two mango habanero wings and two mini rellenos served with green chili , queso and ranch dressing for dipping.

The Relleno Appetizer is three mini rellenos cut in half and served with Urban Sombrero’s homemade green chili.

These mini rellenos were delish and also a good app for sharing. Urban Sombrero surprised us with their green chili - it has a nice little kick to it and was a solid topping for the rellenos.

Now when you think of a Mexican restaurant, your mind doesn’t immediately go to burgers or chicken sandwiches, does it? Well, when you think of Urban Sombrero, it should! Urban Sombrero has award winning burgers and some awesome chicken sandwiches.

Two of Urban Sombrero’s most popular burgers are the Big Daddy Breakfast Burger and El Fuego’s Favorite (for my spicy Denverites out there).

a3.jpg

The Big Daddy Breakfast Burger is made with applewood smoked bacon, a fried egg and American cheese.

a4.jpg

El Fuego’s Favorite is made with grilled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, Sombrero salsa and chipotle mayo served with cayenne pepper fries.

#itwillputalittlefireinyourday #feelinhothothot!

All of Urban Sombrero’s chicken sandwiches are made with fresh, natural, antibiotic free chicken from Red Bird Farms - you can get your chicken grilled or crispy.

Treslyn and I got downnnn on a California Chicken Club that was made with crispy chicken breast, mayo, hickory smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, avocado slices, lettuce, tomato.

#whatrealchickentasteslike !

Urban Sombrero of course has some classic Mexican dishes to enjoy such as the Grilled Steak & Shrimp Combo Fajitas and the Smothered Burrito.

a5.jpg

The Smothered Burrito is stuffed with your choice of meat, mexican rice, refried or black beans, mixed cheese and then smothered in green chili.

Next up (and arguably the most important course of the meal lol) DESSERT.

ANNNND, you can’t go to any Mexican restaurant without getting sopapillas - seriously, it’s mandatory. & Urban Sombrero’s Alexa’s Special had our sweet spots singing!

a1.jpg

Alexa’s Special is Urban Sombrero’s take on Sopapillas and they serve the sopapilla pieces as crisp little triangles alongside a generous scoop of Mexican Fried Ice cream. Legit the perfect Mexican dessert! This dish is also named after the General Manager’s daughter which made it that much sweeter…pun intended lol.

Thanks to Urban Sombrero for hosting us and congratulations on your second location! We will be seeing you again soon!
