Welton Room in Five Points at the bottom of The Lydian apartments is giving us major Manhattan & Bev Hills vibes. #LOVEIT
With their exquisitely crafted cocktails and whimsical floral arrangements - this will be one of our newfound socializing spots.
The owner of Welton Room, Champ, is an outrageously talented & charismatic mixologist. He used to work at The Bazaar in Beverly Hills so we knew we were in for a treat. Champ made us four ingenious cocktails that left us wanting A LOT more.
To start us out, Champ made us two gin drinks - the Strawberry Fields and The Moon.
The Strawberry Fields is made with Hendrick's Gin & Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water
"Simplicity and accessibility is a key part to making a great Gin Tonica and this drink is an excellent example. While strawberries and black pepper may seem an unusual combination, the result is a pleasant delicious one.”
The Moon is made with Roku, Yuzu Juice & Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic Water.
"Japanese craft gin Roku is crafted by meticulous and detailed Japanese artisans, using six unique Japanese botanicals and eight traditional gin botanicals. The six Japanese botanicals include the sakura flower, sakura leaf, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, sansho pepper, and yuzu peel"
Em and I were concerned when we saw that these drinks were being made with gin as we're not huge gin fans - but boy oh boy, did these drinks change our minds! #gimmegimme #more
Both of these drinks were refreshing and beautiful - the perfect summer cocktail really. From their large glasses showcasing their colorful botanicals to their fresh fruits with their citrus-y tastes and aromas - we were big, big fans of both.
We then tried a champagne cocktail made with Freixenet Blanc de Blancs Brut - a Spanish Cava with floral aromas, fine bubbles and a medium body.
Champ added a pine and floral botanical to this cocktail then added a toasted lemon candy to the rim for a smokey-sugary-sour addition that added great flavor tones to the drink.
Up next was the Cotton Candy Martini!
This performative cocktail is sure to dazzle as fluffy pink smoke clouds came cascading out of the glass.
Not too sugary & the right amount of sweet, this cocktail is a BIG crowd pleaser - especially for those IG video & boomerang fans!
You can rent Welton Room out for special events and cater in food which we most certainly will be doing in the future! We love, love, love the vibe of this place.
Big thanks to Welton Room & Champ for having us in and we will be back V soon! They have some frozen cocktails (cognac sorbet anyone?) that we are eager to try out next go round!
