Courier, Valentine's Day
Courier hosted us for a lovely Galentine's dinner last night and we are excited to share their Vday menu with you all!
Courier is located inside the Hyatt hotel in downtown Denver. Courier's decor is v art deco and pays homage to how much the press & newspaper industry was in shaping the Mile High City. This was our first time dining at Courier and the staff couldn't have been more lovely. They were very attentive and had set up one of their private dining rooms beautifully for the Galentine's Day event. All of us girls were really feeling the love - they had rosé waiting for us upon arrival and a cutie photo booth which we took full advantage of. The Vday tables were decorated to a tee with art deco vases filled with pink and white roses and decorative hearts surrounded by twinkly lights and candles.
Courier has an awesome Prix Fixe Menu for Valentine's from Feb 14-17, 5pm-10pm, $50/person which includes a complimentary glass of champs! SUCH a deal you won't want to pass up!
Courier started us with some cocktails and we all chose the Press Proof which is Tito's vodka, coffee liquor, and milk stout.
The perf cocktail to get that caffeine buzz goin'!
We then began our meal with Oysters Rockefeller which were great. I am a huge raw oyster fan and I always forget they are just as good (if not better) baked. The two oysters were a perf starting dish to share and were topped with rich sauce, parsley and bread crumbs with lemon wedges on the side.
Next up were starters of French Onion Soup or Crab Louie Salad with quail egg, avocado, asparagus and old bay aioli.
I went with the Crab Louie Salad which was refreshing and nice. I tried Treslyn's French Onion Soup which was stellar and I'm not even a huge French Onion fan! So I would go with the soup on this one especially with how chilly it has been outside!
The choices for mains from the prix fixe menu are are the:
Miso halibut with celeraica, greens, and beurre blanc.
Waygu Steak Diane with a twice baked potato, and rhye whiskey.
Lemon Thyme Chicken with mushroom risotto and carrots.
Cauliflower Cassoulet with gigante beans and smoke mushrooms.
All of us went with the Waygu Steak and that rhye whiskey sauce you guys #nom - it was delicious and paired really nicely with the meat.
Dessert was a choice of Bittersweet Trifle with chocolate, coffee and caramel or the Passion Fruit Bombe with cream cheese, citrus and hibiscus.
Dependent on your dessert preference, the bittersweet trifle hits all the chocolate marks while the Fruit Bombe is light, fluffy and fruity! We all tried each and our vote goes with the Bittersweet Trifle!
Thank you so much to Courier and the Courier staff for hosting denv.her. for such a darling evening & Happy Galentine's, Valentine's, and all of the above to you and yours babes!
